Location: Cake Baking Contest Tent (next to the Welcome Tent)
Entry Deadline: October 11th or sooner if all 20 spots are filled

✅ Who Can Enter?

Anyone is welcome to enter the bake off! Kids and Adults of any age are welcome to participate. Both inexperienced and experienced bakers are eligible to enter. This competition is intended for homemade baked cakes. All baked goods must be made by the entrant, in a home kitchen.

Cakes may be single or multi-layer, and all parts must be edible. Your cake must be made from scratch. No cake mixes or prepared frostings are allowed, toppings and decorations are encouraged. Participants may enter any type of recipe.

📝 How to Enter:
Complete the online entry form below. Pay the $10 entry fee per cake via PayPal during form submission. Only 20 cakes will be accepted—first come, first served! 


🕘 Cake Drop-Off Details:
Check-in is at 9:30am at the Baking Contest tent. Judging will start at 10:00am.

Please bring a copy of your ingredients listed on an index card to be displayed in front of your cake. Cakes must be covered and in a container. Do not submit anything that requires refrigeration as the event is held outside. No refrigeration is available. All entries are to be submitted as a whole, complete cake. 

☑️How Will Recipes Be Judged?

Entries will be judged in the following criteria:

Appearance (maximum 10 points)

Taste (maximum 10 points)

Creativity (maximum 10 points)

Maximum of 30 points are possible.


🥇 Prizes:

Three finalists will be selected: 

First place, will win a blue ribbon and $50.00 gift certificate for shopping at the OBFM.  

Second place will receive a ribbon and a $30.00 OBFM gift certificate.

Third place will receive a ribbon and a $20.00 OBFM gift certificate.


📞 Winner Notification:
Selected finalists will be notified after the judging period, approximately 11:00am on Saturday, October 18th.  

All contestants are expected to be physically present for the announcement and to accept their prize at that time. If the contestant or a representative for the contestant is not present, they are automatically disqualified, and the prize will go to the next selected entry.

Finalists will be photographed which may be used for future promotional materials for OBFM.

 

🥧 After Judging:
Slices of your cake (minus one for you) will be sold to market shoppers. All proceeds go to support OBFM programs. Please retrieve your containers by the end of the event.
