We started Alpacas of the Crystal Coast in late 2004 with our first six alpacas--three mamas and three babies. We purchased 2 other alpacas and all of the rest were born of the farm. We have been fortunate to have good birthing experiences. All births have been unassisted except one. It’s such an amazing, natural process!

Our mission is to provide the best, purest unrefined salt possible utilizing ocean water that is far from the land beyond the reach of the turbidity of manmade and natural pollutants associated with rainwater runoff and river flows. We truly feel this yields the most pristine salt possible, any less is unacceptable.
People ask why go so far, we simply smile and say you have to see the colors of the deep blue sea to understand.

Hi, we are Jeff and Barbara Benoit. We started Beaufort Biscuits, a small artisan bakery, in 2021 after retiring from hectic professional careers and moving to North Carolina's Crystal Coast to enjoy a more relaxed coastal lifestyle. We specialize in small-batch southern comfort baked goods that include a variety of buttermilk biscuits, cheese straws, and granola.
