A Little Kindness, A Lot of Heart: A Story from the Market

I want to share with you a story from yesterday's market (Opening Day) that absolutely warmed my

heart. The past couple of years a young boy, recently turned 10, who is passionate and

extremely knowledgeable of plants has been a repeat customer of mine. His folks are

earthy and amazing. He purchased a creeping Jenny then came back by with his mom

and sister. He was inquiring about African basil and his sister was interested in an

Agastache. He was planning to use his birthday money for the plants.

A older lady overheard the conversation and asked him his age, intentions for the plants etc. She

was so moved by his passion and knowledge she bought both plants for the kids. The

look on all our faces was priceless; his mom was speechless. I told her it gave me good

goosebumps. That's the love and community that our big market shows.
